Why is #MississippiAbortionBan is Trending on Twitter?

Today I came to know about the #MississippiAbortionBan and arguments related to this ban from Twitter.

The state of Mississippi has passed a new law that bans abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy and Dobb’s V.Jackson  women health organisation filed a lawsuit against this law in the Supreme Court.

What is Mississippi Abortion Ban:

 The United States Of America is made up of 50 states and each state has its own law  Mississippi Abortion law is one such law which is brought up by the state of Mississippi that ban almost all abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy which is a direct challenge to the constitution rights after Roe v.Wade decision, which prohibited the states from banning the procedure before fetal viability is 24 weeks.

This law can redefine the right to abortion in the United States and will have a huge impact not just on reproductive rights but also on every sector of the society from health care and criminal justice to workforce participation and lastly in the economy of the U.S.

On December 1st 2021 Wednesday the Supreme Court of USA  herd an oral argument in significant abortion cases, since it established the constitutional rights after the 1973 Roe V.Wade decision

after checking important abortion cases in the past years, the court appears to support the state law which bans abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

But the court will cast conditional  votes at a private conference in the coming days. The senior justice in the majority will then allot the majority opinion to a colleague.. 

Thousands of voices were raised against the supreme court and strike down the Mississippi Abortion law and to protect the right of abortion.

Outside the court building recognizing one of the most consequential cases about the issue in decades, dozens of protesters on both sides gathered in masses outside the court building in Washington D.C.


Since we came to know about the Mississippi Abortion Ban through twitter which states that the Mississippi state government has passed a law that ban Abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy and it goes directly against the country’s right to abortion.

A lawsuit was filed against this law in the Supreme Court and the court upheld the state law. Which as a result led to a huge protest against this law outside the court building from both sides.
